Advisory Board
Comprised of experts from the education, technology, and non-profit sectors, parents, and students, the National AI Literacy Day® Advisory Board aims to promote AI literacy as a foundational 21st-century skill through education and community engagement. They also provide guidance to the Steering Committee, contribute to resource development, and encourage participation across all 50 states and internationally. Their work directly contributes to a future where every learner, educator, and citizen is empowered to navigate, use, and shape AI technology with confidence, safety, and critical thinking.
Maya Israel
Dr. Maya Israel is a Professor of Educational Technology and Computer Science (CS) Education at the University of Florida, and the Director of the CS Everyone Center for Computer Science Education (https://cseveryonecenter.org/). Her research and outreach focus on designing and scaling approaches that enable all K-12 students to meaningfully engage in CS and artificial intelligence (AI) education. Dr. Israel contributes to key policy and standards efforts, including leading Florida’s K-12 AI Education Taskforce (https://fl-aitaskforce.org/), which brings together experts across education, educational technology, and policy to develop guidance for safe and effective integration of AI into Florida schools.
Jinnyn Jacob
Jinnyn Jacob leads Booz Allen Hamilton’s major global philanthropic partnerships, including TechXplore, an initiative to empower more than one million young people with artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced technology skills. Her work builds on more than a decade as an innovation strategist, helping clients solve complex challenges through technology. She has led education initiatives in Mexico and Qatar and was a Fulbright Scholar in Turkey. Jinnyn was named one of FedScoop’s New Power Women of Technology and one of DCInno’s Top Innovation Leaders. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Isabella Johnston
Isabella Johnston is Founder and CEO of Employers 4 Change, an AI-enabled workforce development platform aligning talent to employers' mission, cultural values and 6 cognitive PowerSkills. Her 20+ years as an educator span secondary, higher education, and workforce development. Isabella is an EDSAFE AI Women in AI Fellow and PhD ABD candidate in Leadership and HRD. She leads a grant-funded pilot AI Bootcamp and 30-Day Challenge for high school students, a five-week program building AI literacy alongside real-world skills. Pilot studies for middle school and adult learner cohorts launch next. She also hosts The Intern Whisperer podcast and writes the LinkedIn newsletter Skills, Values, AI... Oh My!

Julie Kelleher
Julie Kelleher brings nearly two decades of EdTech leadership to closing the AI literacy gap between school and home. She is the founder of LIKEAMOTHER.AI™ and creator of PARENT-IN-THE-LOOP™, AI training that helps parents guide how their families experience AI. She has delivered workshops to 400+ parents and caregivers, co-founded the Raising AI collective (launched on National AI Literacy Day 2026), and is a 2026 EDSAFE AI Alliance Catalyst Fellow. She also leads Kelleher Consulting Group, bringing EdTech products and services to K-12 and higher education markets. Julie began her career as a teacher and Peace Corps Volunteer. She holds degrees from Harvard and Georgia Tech, and is a mom to two girls navigating the AI age alongside her.
Nathan Kriha
Nathan Kriha serves as a P-12 Policy Analyst at EdTrust where he advocates for forward-thinking policies that strengthen educational outcomes for students from traditionally underserved communities, bridging research and policy to deliver insights regarding educator diversity and equitable AI implementation. Nathan holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Program of Liberal Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
Lydia Logan
Lydia Logan is Vice President of Global Education and Workforce Development, leading initiatives that expand access to skills, education, and career opportunities in the age of AI. She works with governments, educators, nonprofits, employers, and global institutions to help learners and workers develop the skills needed for an evolving economy. A recognized leader in workforce development, Lydia has advanced partnerships with organizations including the World Economic Forum, Junior Achievement, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She is passionate about ensuring AI literacy is accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all, helping individuals and communities build the confidence and capabilities to thrive in a digital future.
Amber Orenstein Kreilein
Amber is the Vice President of Workforce & Career Readiness Solutions at Imagine Learning, where she works to ensure every student has access to experiences that prepare them not just to enter the workforce, but to shape their world. She began as a classroom teacher and has since spent years building proven, award-winning learning experiences for students and educators. Career education goes beyond technical skills; it must foster the judgment and adaptability required to grow alongside AI rather than be outrun by it. To Amber, that begins with real AI literacy: not knowing how to use a tool, but mastering the how, when, where, and why of leveraging AI with purpose.
Shawn Powers
Dr. Shawn Powers (she/her) is the Senior Director of AI Policy at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), where she leads the institution's AI governance, policy, ethics, and literacy initiatives. With nearly a decade of experience as an Associate Dean in SNHU's School of Arts, Sciences, and Education, she brings expertise in academic policy, leadership, and organizational change. Drawing on a background in philosophy, ethics, and education, Dr. Powers works to advance responsible and human-centered approaches to artificial intelligence in higher education. She is a frequent speaker on AI governance, academic integrity, and ethical AI use. Dr. Powers is also a 2025 EDSAFE Women in AI Fellow.
Matthew Rascoff
Matthew Rascoff is an education innovation leader who has worked across sectors to democratize access to knowledge and opportunity. He joined Stanford University in 2021 as the inaugural Vice Provost for Digital Education, advising Stanford’s president and provost on digital learning initiatives and establishing Stanford Digital Education (SDE). Under his direction, the SDE team pioneered a model of mission-driven digital learning that accelerates social mobility for students who have been historically underserved by higher education. Matthew is also a lecturer in management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a 2025 Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy in Berlin.
Karl Rectanus
Karl Rectanus is an education leader, serial entrepreneur, and sought-after advisor and speaker helping policy makers, organizations and their supporters drive impact-centered innovations. Now CEO of Impact4Scale, Karl previously founded LearnPlatform, a category-creating education company, named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the World, to systemically expand equitable, evidence-based education. Among his philanthropic and non-profit leadership, he chairs the Industry Council of EDSAFE AI, a group of 100+ leading solution providers committed to safe, accountable, fair, and effective AI in their policies, practices and products.
Annie Shan
Annie Shan is an incoming freshman at Vanderbilt University and a passionate advocate for AI's role in education. She currently supports Frizzle, a Y Combinator-backed startup automating math grading for teachers, and collaborates with fellow Vanderbilt students at the Wond'ry to build a language learning product. Annie is co-founder and CEO of Mindset Math, a nonprofit that has scaled research-based STEM programming to 960+ students and educators across 40+ sites. Through Mindset Math, she led development of MathVoyagers, an AI-powered math platform, and partnered with Coherent Math Consulting on a districtwide quantitative reasoning curriculum. She's excited to help advance AI literacy as a foundational 21st-century skill.
Jyoti Srivastava
I am an award-winning EdTech leader, educator, and AI advocate with 15+ years of experience leading digital transformation in K–12 education. I partner with school leaders to leverage AI for teaching, learning, and operational excellence. I design and facilitate professional learning on AI literacy and responsible adoption, helping educators confidently integrate emerging technologies. Beyond leadership, I teach Computer Engineering elective, mentor student capstone projects, and champion future-ready learning. Honored with the KCI Alumni Educator Impact Award (2025) and Employee of the Year (2021–22), I am passionate about advancing equitable AI literacy to prepare educators and students to thrive.
Nathan Tedjeske
Nathan Tedjeske is the Chief Innovation Officer for the Wyoming Department of Education. A career educator, he's held positions as a teacher, coach, and administrator as well. Nathan won a Milken Educator Award in 2024 and has moved his focus to providing new and innovative opportunities to all Wyoming Students. Nathan has spent significant time working on AI in education, professional development, and outdoor education.
Alana Winnick
Alana Winnick is an award-winning educational leader, national keynote speaker, and author of The Generative Age and the forthcoming The Digital Wellness Age. As Educational Technology Director and Data Protection Officer at Pocantico Hills CSD and a Director for NYSCATE, she helps educators navigate AI, digital wellness, and emerging technologies with a focus on creating more intentional, human-centered learning experiences. She is the founder of Students for Innovation, empowering students to lead meaningful change in education.
