Ethical Teaching with AI: Equity, Transparency, and Trust
As AI tools become increasingly visible in higher education, faculty are encountering practical questions about ethics, equity, communication with students, and instructional autonomy. This 45-minute workshop is designed to support faculty in making intentional, values-driven decisions about AI use in their teaching, without prescribing a single ""right"" approach.
Participants will explore how to design ethical and equitable uses of AI that support student learning while preserving faculty autonomy and instructional choice. The workshop will also focus on developing transparent communication strategies that help clarify expectations around AI use, including appropriate use, limitations, and boundaries.
This session emphasizes practical, adaptable strategies that faculty can apply immediately to their own courses, regardless of discipline or prior experience with AI.
