Borough of Manhattan Community College’s 3rd AI Innovation Sprint

Join us for Borough of Manhattan Community College’s (BMCC) 3rd AI Innovation Sprint, a fast-paced, hands-on experience where students, faculty, and community partners team up to use artificial intelligence to tackle real-world challenges in New York City and beyond. Building on BMCC's successful AI Literacy Day and Innovation Sprint events-with teams using AI to design solutions for mental health, food insecurity, and student success-this year's sprint pushes creativity, equity, and workforce readiness even further.

Over the course of the afternoon, you'll move from AI basics to prototype: exploring core AI concepts, experimenting with AI tools, and collaborating in teams to design AI-powered solutions focused on social impact, business & entrepreneurship, and student well-being. Mentors from BMCC, CUNY, industry, and community organizations will circulate to coach teams as they refine their ideas into short pitches.

No prior AI or coding experience is required-all majors and all comfort levels with technology are welcome. You'll learn how AI works in everyday tools, how to use it responsibly and ethically, and how AI skills can support your academic pathway and career goals, aligning with BMCC's mission to ""take what works to scale"" for student success and equity. At the end of the sprint, teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. Prizes will recognize projects that demonstrate AI literacy, creativity, teamwork, and community impact.
