Celebrating National AI Literacy Day with the Global AI Literacies Community

Celebrate a year of open, globally-grounded AI literacies research and the community it has built, and then help shape what comes next.

The global conversation on AI literacies development in education has been building over the last few years, kicking off with the milestone creation of the Dimensions of AI Literacies taxonomy. Built by Opened Culture, this resource leveraged international research from studies commissioned by UNESCO IITE. From that foundation grew a community of practitioners, researchers, and institutional leaders across six continents asking the same fundamental questions about how AI literacies are the key to aligning AI in education, work, and life as a force for good.  On National AI Literacies Day, March 27, 2026, Opened Culture and D2L are celebrating the AI Literacies Unlocked first anniversary, relaunching it with new research and new stories from the field, and inviting this community to shape what comes next.
